
A COR is a formal written request submitted by a contractor or subcontractor to the owner or GC proposing a change to the contract scope, price, or schedule. A COR documents the reason for the change, the proposed cost impact, and the schedule impact, and initiates the review and approval process. Once reviewed and approved, a COR typically becomes a formal Change Order that amends the contract. Tracking open CORs is a critical project controls function.
