Construction Drawings (CD)

Construction Drawings. The full set of drawings produced by the architect and engineers at the completion of the design phase, used as the primary basis for construction and subcontractor bidding. CDs include architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and landscape drawing sets. They define dimensions, materials, systems, and assemblies in sufficient detail for contractors to build from. CDs are also called contract documents and form the technical backbone of the construction contract.
