Blueprints

Blueprints are detailed design plans or sets of architectural and engineering drawings used to communicate a project’s scope, layout, dimensions, and technical specifications to the construction team.

Traditionally printed using a blue-background reproduction process, the term “blueprints” is now commonly used to describe any official construction drawings, whether printed or digital.

Typically Include:

  • Floor plans
  • Elevations and sections
  • Structural details
  • Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing layouts
  • Dimensions and notes
  • Material specifications

Blueprints serve as the primary reference for builders, contractors, and inspectors to ensure the project is constructed according to the approved design.
